DTSF ArtBOX

I was lucky to be one of 60 artists whose designs were chosen to wrap 25 electrical boxes throughout the downtown area. Instead of featuring my own artwork, I wanted to design something that communicated the diversity and variety of cultures that make up Sioux Falls.

The front of the box showcases the beautiful Sioux Falls flag (of course), behind that are nearly two hundred flags representing the various languages and countries of origin of the people who have immigrated here over the past 125 years. Finally, making up the border of the box are the flags of the nine indigenous tribes upon whose land we all reside.

It’s a reminder that wherever we may come from, whatever language we might speak — we are ALL Sioux Falls.
